I'm the marketing guy, not the scholar. So while Bart and the other PhDs handle the ancient manuscripts, I handle everything else: the courses, the events, the website, and the job of making sure brilliant scholarship actually reaches the people who want it. Prior to working with Bart, I ran a life insurance website which is where I discovered my love for online marketing. I live in Scottsdale AZ with my beautiful wife and three daughters.

I have a Dalmatian named Odie and a long-suffering loyalty to the ever disappointing San Diego Padres, so I'm well practiced at hope.

I have a master’s in computer science and an MBA from MIT, and 20 years of experience building software. At Paths in Biblical Studies, I build and run the technology behind it all: our website, the course and membership pages, checkout, and the email and analytics systems that connect them. If you’ve read about a course, joined the Biblical Studies Academy, or clicked a link in one of our emails, you’ve used something I built. I also keep refining how everything works, making pages clearer and easier to use so curious people can find their way to the scholarship. My goal is technology you never notice, so the scholars stay front and center.

I love to make things and create colorful, fun content and so at Paths I get to have my hands in things like social media posting, YouTube thumbnail creation, reel creation, video editing … and more. If you see a pop of color around here, there’s a good chance I was involved - HA! I grew up in a Fundamentalist Evangelical world where I received both an MDiv and DMin and was a pastor before having a crisis of faith back in 2017. I was always told to stay away from Bart’s work while in seminary, but once I began rethinking things I took a deep dive into his books and found that rather than ruin my faith they actually deepened it in profound ways. I grew up in New Jersey just outside of New York City and now live in North Carolina with my wife and daughter.

Outside of my work for Paths I host a podcast that aims to challenge our assumptions about life and spirituality. I also love to paint and so if you ever see me out of the house I likely have some colorful paint on my hands! I enjoy playing video games (Nintendo, mostly) and I'm a lifelong New York Yankees fan.

I assist with online content and community management. I recently graduated with a Master of Global Policy Studies and M.A. in Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and am passionate about all things foreign policy and the academic study of religion. I was previously a consultant for the National Museum of American Religion and a research fellow with the Center for Mind and Culture's Lawson Interviews of Seventh-day Adventists project.

I’ve spent my career surrounded by people obsessed with ideas. Along the way, I’ve built money movement platforms for global financial institutions, tinkered with manuscripts at an independent press, and mentored professional artists in business and creative development. After many years of cultivating a passion for biblical studies, I jumped at the opportunity to channel that interest into work that serves others. I’m the organizational engine behind The Bart Ehrman Foundation & Blog, where I lead strategy, operations, technology, fundraising, and charitable giving, turning curiosity about the ancient world into tangible relief in the modern one. I also work closely with Dr. Ehrman, managing the many moving parts that bring his scholarship to a wider audience.

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with my husband and two young daughters, neither of whom has shown much interest in textual criticism. Yet.

I've been teaching Hebrew Bible at Yale for twenty years. I joined PBS in 2024, and basically haven't stopped doing fun things around here since. Courses, big and small, live lectures, and now a podcast. Catch 'em all! (Is that trademarked?)

Here's a true fact: I happen to have whatever weird genetic quirk makes it so that I always get the very best possible parking space. Drives my colleagues, friends, and family nuts.

I'm an author at Paths in Biblical Studies. I completed my PhD in New Testament and Early Christianity in 2019. I'm the author of a book on early Christian monasticism titled John Cassian and the Creation of Monastic Subjectivity. When not researching and writing, I enjoy reading, playing music, and spending time my wife and kids. I have taught classes in the letters of Paul, the Gospels, and the history of Christian monasticism. My long-term goal is to find new and interesting ways to bring the findings of historical and Biblical scholarship to lay readers.

I was a high school English teacher before beginning my PhD. I also played and sang in a number of highly unsuccessful punk and indie-rock bands for many years.

I keep the behind-the-scenes machinery running. Everything from coordinating scholars, managing events, and handling the logistics that bring academic content to learners around the world. If something's happening at Paths in Biblical Studies, I am most likely involved in some capacity.

Outside of work, I am the happiest with a project in front of me. With a grandpa who built homes (& the Disneyland Castle) and a dad who owned a flooring company, I naturally take on furniture builds, kitchen and bathroom remodels, floors, and the occasional car. I know just enough to be dangerous! When I'm not covered in sawdust or grease, I'm buried in a fiction novel or reorganizing something that didn’t need it but now looks perfect.

I am a historian with a Ph.D. in ancient history from the University of Zagreb. My research focuses on the history of early and late antique Christianity, with a particular emphasis on Egyptian monasticism. I work as an Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb, Department of History, where I teach courses on late antique Christianity and on the relationship between broader society and religion in the Middle Ages. I am also involved in the project “Perception of History in Modern and Contemporary Culture,” funded by the European Union. Currently, I am working on a monograph for Palgrave that examines the emergence and development of “orthodoxy” in the late antique period.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, where I continue to prove that historians can reconstruct the past better than they can defend the pick-and-roll.

While I use my background in film production to edit content for our socials and courses I also have a deep love of history. I hold a degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Ancient Greek. I have always been drawn to understanding the history of why we believe what we believe, and I'm so proud to be a part of this team help others continue to learn as well!

Aside from Religious Studies I've also jumped into a whole list of interesting jobs from teaching fencing, to managing a concert venue, and even worked for National Geographic.

With a decade of navigating the world of biblical scholarship and learning ancient languages as a curious layperson, I’m passionate about bridging the gap between academics and the rest of us. After finishing a Bachelor of Science degree, I turned toward my interests in the ancient world and sought learning opportunities outside the ivory tower, which led me to the Paths in Biblical Studies team. Now I help bring the lecture hall to the living rooms of a community of lifelong learners around the world, fostering accessible conversations about history and faith for fellow enthusiasts.

A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, my other loves outside of nerdy nonsense include my husband, my cat, graphic novels, the outdoors, and embodying the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 8:15.

I have a B.F.A in Communication Design from Louisiana Tech University. What I’ve learned through biblical scholarship has made me more curious and more excited about the bible and how faith works in everyday life. I am eager to craft visual communication that invites others to have their assumptions tested and their knowledge expanded.

When I’m not tinkering around in the Adobe Creative Suite, I am either spending time with my husband and son, or I’m listening/reading/journaling about biblical studies.

As the Member Support Coordinator, I’m here to answer questions, troubleshoot technical issues, and help customers find their way—hopefully making their day a little easier along the way! You may have also sent me in BSA or hosting a class or two. I also hold a master’s degree in Business Administration and work in HR compliance as my full-time job. As a pastor’s kid, I’ve always been curious about the history and cultural context behind the Bible. That curiosity led me to Bart Ehrman’s books and talks many years ago, and my love for biblical knowledge has only grown since. I love being part of a community that encourages learning, thoughtful questions, and discovery.

I’m an Okie (not from Muskogee) who loves spending time with my husband, daughter, two cats, and dog. When I have a little downtime, you’ll usually find me piecing together a puzzle or getting lost in a good book!

As someone raised to view the Bible as a book of literal truths that are applicable to every generation and any situation, I thoroughly enjoy everything I learn when editing the blog posts written by our skilled writers as they approach the topics as historians. I have nearly two decades of experience as an editor and writer. When I'm not doing those things, I'm regularly involved in community organising and activism, with a particular focus on human rights, labour rights, and climate change. An avid nature enthusiast, I love camping and hiking, even though my area gets a lot wet, windy weather. I have tremendous appreciation for art and the humans who create it. I attend as many concerts, plays, festivals, musicals, and other cultural activities as possible, finding that such efforts energise, thrill and delight me.

Although originally from the United States, I have lived in Ireland for over a decade and am learning the Irish language.

I help care for the wonderful community at Biblical Studies Academy, which I joined as a member soon after its inauguration, thrilled to find that others like me existed: laypeople deeply interested in Christian and Jewish studies from a historical-critical perspective. Now that I’ve joined the team, I bring two decades of leadership experience to my role, having managed teams across two industries. I could not be more excited to be part of an organization that offers so many ways to serve like-minded, lifelong students and seekers. My obsession with biblical studies began with the serendipitous discovery of Karen Armstrong’s A History of God in an airport bookstore in 2006, a book I read cover to cover on the flight. Bart Ehrman’s How Jesus Became God soon followed, and eventually I had studied enough to earn the claim to my armchair.
